Downunder Experience

Teachers

Our Group Leaders have the following to say about the Down under Experience:

My name is Cherie Cordel and I am a Spanish teacher in Edmonds, Washington. As a World Language teacher I value culture and have traveled abroad to Spain and Mexico several times with students. I have always been fascinated with Australia and had a strong desire to travel there. A few years back I was given the opportunity to work with EWT and finally fulfill my dream.

In July of 2000 my husband and I took a group of 17 students to tour around Sydney and Cairns on the coast. We were so impressed with the ease of the trip and the professionalism of the EWT staff that we vowed to continue with the program. The sites and towns we visited were perfect and had a great variety of culture and excitement. All of the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and made some life long friends with their host families. We ourselves have remained in contact with several families and have even visited with them here in the US on their vacations. The hosting experience is invaluable and life changing for the students.

I enjoyed the trip so much that I took another group of students in the summer of 2002. I was hosted in a different area this time and enjoyed exploring the new town and school. Again, it was a wonderful trip and the staff at EWT made me feel right at home with their expertise and friendly attitudes. The entire tour is well planned which made my job as leader quite easy.

I would highly recommend this trip down-under to any teacher and student. It has proven to be one of the best traveling experiences I have encountered. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the trip.
